Diamond painting is fun and relaxing, but what if you want to add an extra bit of surprise and fun to your diamond painting experience? Try doing a mystery diamond painting!
Types of mystery diamond paintings
Some companies offer a “mystery diamond painting” and they really just mean they will pull out a random painting and mail it to you. You don’t get to pick the design on the canvas, but other than that, it’s just a normal diamond painting and you will be able to see what the design is as soon as you open the package.
Sometimes these are labeled as “surprise” diamond paintings. I’ve ordered these before and I’ve liked all of the designs that they’ve sent. I got a couple of different flower paintings, a few animal paintings, and some landscape scenes from these types of surprise packages. The great thing about these is that you get quite a few for a cheap price, so if you are going for quantity over quality, you can’t beat these deals.
These are fun to do, especially if you are purchasing from a company that you already know you like most of their designs and you know you will be generally pleased no matter which painting you get.
The other type of mystery diamond painting is when the canvas itself is totally white, with only black markings that tell you which of the diamond drills goes into each spot. These are way more fun, because until you get the picture at least partially finished, you may have no idea what the final painting will be of.
Where can you get mystery diamond paintings?
I usually get mine on Amazon, but you can also get them directly from a diamond painting company like Diamond Art Club. If you’re like me and shopping on Amazon, there are several different brands and companies that make and sell these, you just have to make sure to read the description closely if you want one that has a totally white canvas. Also you will want to avoid the reviews section unless you are ok with someone ruining the surprise of what the painting will look like once it’s complete.

Does it come with diamonds?
The mystery diamond paintings should come with everything you need to complete the painting, but make sure to check the description so you know what comes in the kit. Every diamond painting kit should come with the drills that you need, as well as a canvas with glue on it already. Some kits, especially the higher priced ones, come with specialty pens or extras like a roller to press your drills down once you are finished.
